HEART framework
A framework for measuring user experience through Happiness, Engagement, Adoption, Retention and Task Success.
Also known as: Google HEART framework, Happiness Engagement Adoption Retention Task Success
HEART is a user-experience measurement framework developed at Google.
It covers five areas:
Happiness measures satisfaction and perceived quality.
Engagement measures the depth or frequency of use.
Adoption measures how many people begin using a product or feature.
Retention measures whether they continue using it.
Task Success measures whether people can complete an action accurately and efficiently.
A team does not need to track every category. The useful measures depend on the product and the behaviour the team wants to understand.
