Glossary term
Product judgement
The ability to make sound product decisions when the evidence is incomplete, conflicting or impossible to reduce to a framework.
Also known as: product judgment, product intuition
Product judgement combines customer understanding, commercial context, technical awareness and experience.
It becomes most visible when there is no obvious answer. Frameworks can organise the available information, but judgment is what determines which assumptions matter, what evidence is missing and which trade-off the company should accept.
