DACI framework
A decision framework that assigns a Driver, Approver, Contributors and Informed stakeholders.
Also known as: DACI, Driver Approver Contributors Informed, DACI decision framework
DACI clarifies the roles involved in making a decision.
The Driver keeps the decision moving and gathers the necessary information.
The Approver makes the final call and takes responsibility for the outcome.
Contributors provide relevant knowledge, advice or analysis.
Informed stakeholders need to know the result but do not participate in making the decision.
The framework is most useful when discussions drag on because input, approval and decision ownership have become mixed together.
