The most obvious upcoming change in product, design and engineering is in team structure. Teams will get smaller. One person covers what used to take three or four, and most companies are only starting to figure out what to do with that. Something that Basecamp has been doing for years (2-3 people in a team) will become a norm for most businesses.

Every person will be responsible for a part of it or a specific metric in the business, become an expert and start driving the results. The most obvious split is to split it by Pirate Metrics (Acquisition, Activation, Retention, Revenue, Referral) but for larger products it will go into the next level or two down.
PMs are shipping code. Designers are building features without a handoff. Everyone is becoming a builder, whether or not that's what the job description says.
