You check what you have, pick a direction and go.

Three months later something doesn't add up. A number that should be moving isn't. Or someone says something in a customer call that keeps coming back.

You couldn't have seen it from where you were standing.

Every team gets some wrong. The question is how many weeks it takes to admit so.

The teams that do it well can say 'I think we called this wrong' in a standup and be on to something else by Friday. Most teams make that sentence so hard and so expensive to say that people are scared of it.

But the reality is that clarity comes after the leap and almost never before.
